1. 4 Part Series - Tips for a Writing
a Winning Resume
===================================================
This is the first
installment in a 4 part series on
creating the winning resume you have been looking for.
------------------------------------------------------------
One of the most
important aspects of any effective job
search is a unique, tailored resume that emphasizes
benefits. With this is mind, it is critical to include more
that just a list of previous jobs, education, and
professional development. Your resume is selling a product
and that product is you. If your resume successfully
emphasizes your benefits to the school district and its
students, you will help the reader answer their number one
question, "What can this candidate do for us?" You can
accomplish this by starting your resume with a strong
profile and an area of expertise section, also known as core
competencies. This section should sum up everything you have
to offer; the rest of the resume will back up what you
included in this section. You must grab the reader's
attention by showing you are passionate about the position
and highly qualified to meet the needs of the district and
its students. Don't leave it up to the reader to figure out
what you are good at let them know and win the interview.
